Our Next Event Empty Our Next Event

Wasn't really sure where to post this, but I figured that I found out our next Events:

Sunday, March 20 -- Chester, VA -- at the Time Capsule
StarCityGames Invitational Qualifier -- this seems like a Grand Prix Trial, but with $250 travel money and Invite to the next Invitational for StarCityGames.

24 Packs to second isn't terrible EV either. Here's the link: http://www.starcitygames.com/pages/open_series/#invitational_qualifiers.

Also, other IQs in the future:
Saturday, April 2 -- Gainesville (just outside DC)
Sunday, April 17 -- Midlothian, VA

I have no idea about the entry fee, but these seem like events that will not have 700 players, and the prize support isn't terrible. All formats are Standard.

Although, with the Invitational as both Legacy AND Standard, I am a lot less interested in playing in the Invitational. It would be fun to travel/play in the events, however. Free travel is nothing to sneeze at.

Just thinking about it.

* Events that I would be willing to travel to
** Events that I definitely want to attend

See post above about Invitational Qualifiers to get ready for Charlotte. There is no way that I want to play in Indianapolis, but I could certainly try to give it a go just to go to the Open that weekend (free travel, or $250 voucher, plus invite).

We really need to learn how to play Legacy if we are going to play in the Invitational. I figure I have until December to figure it out, and buy a deck.

I am currently reviewing old Legacy lists to get started, plus to see what cards are required. I have no idea how to acquire duals and Force of Will at the moment, but I could definitely give it a try by the end of the season. It will probably require me to start writing again to make the extra money. I can't justify the buy-in otherwise. I think I would rather justify buying in to Magic Online than Legacy paper decks.

I plan on playing those qualifiers. If I do qualify I will go to indy with the off chance of qualifying again for Charlotte. These qualifiers shouldn't be any harder than playing a FNM and I expect less than 40 players at each. The buyin will probally be $20, but if the buyin is $30 I'm not going.

Also there's no reason for us to care about legacy right now.
